Pirated Version of Windows Vista selling for $8 in Iran

In 1984, the computer was $5000 and the OS cost $10. In 2006, the computer is closer to $600, and the OS is closer to $600. One price plumeted, the other skyrocketed. Why? The hardware is/ was a free market. The OS, essentially a monopoly.
